The Forge
The Forge is in Thorncombe, over on the Dorset side of the Somerset border. It's a converted barn, semi-detached. Sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. We allow two dogs.
The main thing is the location. It's quiet up here, just fields and lanes. The garden is enclosed, so it's secure for dogs. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. It has a proper kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, plus parking right outside.
Thorncombe village itself is small, with a pub about a mile and a half away. Beaminster is a short drive for shops and a few more places to eat.
You're about half an hour from the coast. Lyme Regis is that way, and Bridport and West Bay aren't much further. It's all part of the Jurassic Coast, so good for walking and fossil hunting. Inland, Forde Abbey is nearby if you like gardens.
Facilities are all included: WiFi, TV, bedding and towels. There's a BBQ and a stairgate if you need one.
