The Tack Room
The Tack Room is in Bettiscombe, Dorset. It's a stone cottage converted from an old stable, so it's long and quite narrow. You've got the place to yourselves, but it's part of a group of cottages around a big old manor house.
It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The bathroom has a walk-in shower.
Outside, there's a private patio with a table and chairs. You can also use the big shared gardens around the manor. There’s plenty of grass and they go down to some woods. There's a shared games room in one of the other buildings with a table tennis table.
It's very quiet here. You're down a private drive off a small lane. The nearest shop is about two miles away. There are a couple of thatched pubs in the local villages, a short drive away.
The coast is about five miles. Lyme Regis and Charmouth are the closest. The beach at Lyme is sandy, and Charmouth is good for fossils. Further along, the coast path goes past Golden Cap. National Trust Golden Cap.
Bridport is a proper market town about twenty minutes away. Lots of shops and places to eat. It's the one from the River Cottage programmes.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. Kitchen, dining area, and sitting area all in one long room. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
