Shepherds Knapp Lodge
Shepherds Knapp Lodge is on Raymond's Hill, just outside Axminster. It's a detached lodge, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. The views from here are really good, just fields and hills.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a double, the other has two singles. There's one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. The living space is open plan, kitchen, dining, and sitting area all in one room. There's a large corner sofa. The dining table is pine. It's a practical space.
Outside, there's an enclosed patio area with a table and chairs. It's private. There's also parking right there.
The local pub is about a mile walk down the lane. Axminster is about two and a half miles away for a shop. If you're here for the River Cottage thing, it's very close. Their kitchen in town is good.
Lyme Regis is about ten minutes in the car. That's the main beach, with sand and the Cobb harbour. West Bay is about twenty minutes. Exeter is around forty minutes if you need a city or the train station, but you can also get the train from Axminster.
For walks, you're right on the edge of the East Devon National Landscape. The coast path is easily reached. There's a golf course nearby too.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. It says wheelchair accessible entrance, but please check the specifics with us if that's important. You can bring up to two dogs.
