The Old Stable
The Old Stable is on the Marshwood Manor estate in Bettiscombe. It's a two bedroom cottage that sleeps four. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well fitted out, but it's not huge. It feels more like a proper little house than a holiday let.
You've got your own private garden area with furniture. Then you share the wider estate grounds, which are about ten acres. There's a games room with table tennis in one of the other buildings.
The stairs are a bit steep. It's just one bathroom, with a shower. The kitchen is open plan with the living area. It's all on one level apart from the bedrooms upstairs.
You're right out in the country here. It's quiet. The local shop is in Marshwood village, a couple of miles away. There are a couple of thatched pubs nearby too, within a short drive.
The coast is about five miles. Lyme Regis and Charmouth are the closest. The beach at Charmouth is good for fossils. West Bay is a bit further. The walking is excellent, on the coast path or inland. The Golden Cap estate is National Trust land and well worth a visit.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is right outside.
