The Smithy
The Smithy is in Penn, Dorset. It's on our farm. We live in the main house next door. The cottage sleeps four. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom downstairs.
It's a small, cosy place. It used to be the blacksmith's stable. You get a decent sized, enclosed garden to yourselves. It's got a patio area and a bit of lawn. The views from there are good, over the Marshwood Vale.
Inside, it's warm and dry. The stairs are a bit steep. There's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a BBQ you can use.
Charmouth is the nearest place, about two miles down the lane. It's got a beach, a shop, and a couple of pubs. The beach is good for fossil hunting. The South West Coast Path runs along there. Lyme Regis is about ten minutes by car. Bridport and West Bay are a short drive the other way.
For a day out, the National Trust manages a lot of the coast and countryside around here. The Golden Cap estate is close. If it rains, Seaton Tramway or the marine aquarium in Lyme are options. For a longer drive, you could get to Dorchester or Corfe Castle within about half an hour.
