Foxglove Cottage
Foxglove Cottage is a bungalow on our working beef farm in Wootton Fitzpaine. It's a single-storey barn conversion, so everything is on the ground floor. You get the small patio to yourselves. There are a couple of steps up from the main living area to the second bedroom, just so you know.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which I think is fair. It's comfortable and clean. The walls between the cottages aren't paper thin, but you might hear the neighbours sometimes. It's a farm, so you'll hear the cattle and farm vehicles during the day.
You can walk straight out into the Marshwood Vale from the door. The coast is about three miles away. Charmouth beach is good for fossil hunting. Lyme Regis is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes by car. It's got the Cobb harbour and some nice shops. For a big sandy beach, West Bay is about a twenty-five minute drive.
Golden Cap is the highest point on the south coast. The walk up is quite steep but the views are worth it. You can see all across Lyme Bay from the top.
The local shop and pub are about a mile and a half away in the village. They're fine. You'll probably want a car to get about.
We include bedding, and there's a washing machine and parking. You can bring up to two dogs. The Wi-Fi works, but it's a farm, so it's not super fast.
