Coombehayes Lodge

Coombehayes Lodge is a bungalow in Uplyme, right near the border with Dorset. It's in the grounds of our house, but it's completely detached and private. You've got your own parking spot and a small patio area that gets the sun in the morning.

It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. Everything is on the one level, so no stairs to worry about. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with a decent shower. The bed is a king size. The living area is open plan with the kitchen.

You're about a ten minute walk from the centre of Uplyme village. There's a good village shop and a couple of pubs that do food. It's another ten or fifteen minutes on foot down into Lyme Regis itself if you fancy it, but it's a steep hill back up.

Being here, you're right on the edge of the Jurassic Coast. The walk along the coast path from Lyme to Charmouth is great. You can hunt for fossils on the beach at Charmouth, though you need to check the tide times. The Lyme Regis museum is good for wet days.

Within about half an hour you can drive to lots of places. Beer and its caves, Sidmouth for the regency buildings, or west to Bridport and the market. For a longer day out, Exeter is about 40 minutes. National Trust Lyme has details on the local coastline.

The bungalow has a washing machine, WiFi, and parking like I said. Bedding and towels are included. We don't allow pets. It's a quiet spot, you'll mainly hear birds and the occasional sheep.
