The Old Forge is in Bettiscombe, on the Marshwood Manor estate. It's one of a few cottages here, converted from old farm buildings. You get your own garden space, and you can use the big shared gardens too. They're about ten acres, so there's room to wander.
The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights, and the kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine.
The place is quite rural. There's a village shop and a couple of pubs a short drive away. For a bigger shop or a market, you'd go to Bridport, which is about seven miles. Bridport has a sports centre with a pool.
The coast is about five miles. Lyme Regis and Charmouth are the closest. The beach at Charmouth is good for fossils. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here, like Golden Cap. The walking is very good, on the cliffs or inland.
You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside the cottage. There's also a shared games room with table tennis in one of the other buildings.
