The Moat House
The Moat House is in Cudworth, in Somerset. It's a thatched cottage, detached. We had it renovated a couple of years ago. Tried to keep the old feel but make it comfortable to live in.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs: two kings and a twin. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower downstairs and one with a bath and shower over it upstairs.
The garden is lawned, with a view over fields. At the back, there's a covered barn area with a hot tub and some space for games. It's a good spot if the weather's a bit iffy.
Inside, the dining room has original oak panelling on the walls. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and narrow. The kitchen has what you'd need: fridge-freezer, dishwasher, electric hob. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cudworth itself is a hamlet, very quiet. You'll need a car. Chard and Ilminster are a few miles away for shops and a few places to eat. Yeovil and Taunton are about half an hour if you need bigger supermarkets or more choice.
For days out, Lyme Regis and the coast are about twenty minutes' drive. There's Ham Hill Country Park nearby for walks. The National Trust has a few places in the area like Barrington Court and Montacute House, which are within half an hour.
The place has a 5 Star rating. All bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive. No pets, I'm afraid.
