The Buxton Retreat is a semi-detached house on a quiet street. It's in Buxton town centre, but set back so it's peaceful. You're about a ten minute walk from the Opera House and the Pavilion Gardens.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The luxury bits are things like a wood burner and a four-poster bed. There's a spa bath. It's over three floors, so there are quite a few stairs. They're normal house stairs, but there are a lot of them.
You can walk to everything in Buxton. Shops, pubs, restaurants. It's all there. The station's a ten minute walk if you're coming by train.
For walks, you can start right from the door. The Ring of Trees trail is good. For a view, you can head up to Corbar Cross or Solomon's Temple. Poole's Cavern is just on the edge of town. The Pavilion Gardens are nice for a stroll.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Castleton, Tideswell, Eyam and Bakewell are all within half an hour's drive. Chatsworth is about the same. Alton Towers is under 45 minutes if you've got kids, or if you're a big kid yourself.
In the house you've got a washing machine, wifi, TV. Wood for the burner is provided. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and a highchair in for you. No pets, sorry.
