This is the Buxton Holiday Home. It’s a detached house on a quiet cul-de-sac, about a ten minute walk into the centre of Buxton.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Two doubles, one with an en-suite shower, and a bunk room. There’s a family bathroom upstairs with a shower over the bath, and a separate toilet downstairs.
The living area is open plan and a good size. The flooring downstairs is laminate, which is handy if you’ve been walking or have dogs. The kitchen has what you need. There’s a conservatory out the back which is useful for storing bikes or walking gear.
The garden is enclosed, mainly paved, and private. There’s an outside tap for rinsing boots. You can park three cars on the driveway.
It’s a 4 Star place. That means it’s comfortable and well-equipped, not luxury. If you use the cot, you’ll need to bring bedding for it. Pets are allowed, up to two.
Buxton itself is the highest market town in England. You can walk to shops, pubs, and restaurants. The Opera House is here and there are festivals through the year. There’s a train line behind the property, and the station has direct services to Manchester.
You’re right on the edge of the Peak District. Poole’s Cavern is in the town. For walking, Peak District National Park is on the doorstep. Chatsworth House is about a 30 minute drive. So are places like Castleton for the caves, or the reservoirs in the Upper Derwent Valley.
Included: WiFi, all bedding and towels, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. There’s a highchair if needed.
