Crawshaw Cottage
Crawshaw Cottage is in Harpur Hill, which is just outside Buxton. It's a modern end-terrace house. You get the garden to yourself. It looks out over fields and you can walk straight into them from the gate.
The house sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's a king-size with an ensuite shower room, a twin that can be made into a super-king if you ask, and a small bunk room. That room has a double bunk on the bottom and a single on top. There's also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen and dining table at one end, a sofa area with a TV at the other. Patio doors lead to the garden. There's a separate living room with a bigger TV, and a toilet. The stairs are normal house stairs, not steep cottage ones.
You can park one car on the driveway. There's usually space on the street right outside as well. There's a garage for storing bikes or luggage. The garden is enclosed.
Harpur Hill has a local pub, about a 15 minute walk. Buxton town centre is a short drive. It's got the Opera House, some good restaurants, and a lot of cafes. For walking, you can go straight out from the door, or drive a few minutes to somewhere like Solomons Temple. The Peak District National Park site has good route ideas.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got Castleton for the caverns, the Tissington Trail, and the Chatsworth estate. Alton Towers is about 45 minutes away.
Facilities: It's got a 4 Star rating. There's WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and included bedding and towels. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
