Tawny Barn

Tawny Barn is in Crowdicote, which is just outside Longnor in the Peak District. It's a barn conversion, so it's got a good amount of space. The view from the front over the fields is the main thing, really. You get it from most of the windows.

It sleeps up to eight people. Four bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy with a big group. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's in good order.

Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen, big table, and the sitting area. It works for everyone being together. Upstairs are the bedrooms. The stairs are a typical barn conversion staircase, a bit open and steep, so just be aware.

Outside, there's a garden area and parking for four cars. There's a secure bike store too. You can take up to four dogs, which is good if you've got a few.

You can walk straight onto the Manifold Valley trail from the door. Longnor village is about a mile's walk. There's a shop and a decent pub there. Buxton is about seven miles away. It's got the Pavilion Gardens park, the Opera House, and the usual shops. Leek is a bit further, just under ten miles.

For walking, you're right in the middle of it. The High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail are close by. Monsal Head is a classic spot for a view. Dovedale and the stepping stones are about a twenty minute drive.

Chatsworth House is under half an hour's drive. It's a big day out, the house and the gardens are impressive, and the farmyard is good for kids. Alton Towers is also about half an hour away, if that's your sort of thing.

In terms of what's there, it's all the practical stuff: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
