Padarn Lodge

Padarn Lodge is a detached lodge just outside Caernarfon town. It's on a quiet park. You get your own patio and garden area.

It's rated 4 Star. It sleeps three, but that's with one person on the sofa bed in the living area. There's one proper bedroom and one bathroom with a shower. Everything's modern and clean. It's got a wood burner for chilly nights and the hot tub is out on the patio.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking right outside.

For facilities, it's got a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.

Caernarfon Castle is the big thing here, it's a Cadw site and really is in the middle of the town. It's about a ten minute drive from the lodge, or you can get a bus.

Llanberis is maybe twenty minutes away. That's where you get the Snowdon Mountain Railway up the mountain, and the Llanberis Lake Railway. The National Slate Museum is there too. All of that's within Eryri National Park.

You can be in Beddgelert in about half an hour for a walk by the river. Porthmadog and the Ffestiniog Railway are also about thirty minutes drive. The coast around there, like Black Rock Sands, is good for a beach.

If you want to plan trips, the Eryri National Park Authority website is useful.
