Hen Weithdy is a cottage in Rhos Isaf, near Caernarfon. It's on our land, but it's detached and completely private. The view from the front is just fields and hills. You can see the mountains of Snowdonia in the distance.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bath. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The living room has a woodburning stove for colder evenings. We leave you a basket of logs to get started.
The front garden is a patio with a table, chairs, and a barbecue. It gets the sun in the afternoon. You're welcome to walk around the edges of our smallholding to see the chickens and sheep, but we'll leave you to yourselves unless you need something.
We're a few minutes' drive from Dinas Dinlle beach. It's a good, long stretch of sand. Caernarfon is three miles away. Everything you need is there: shops, supermarkets, a few pubs and restaurants. The castle is the main thing to see, obviously.
For getting into the mountains, the Welsh Highland Railway station is in Caernarfon too. You can take the train from there right into the heart of Snowdonia. That saves on parking. If you're driving, it's about a 30-minute drive to the start of many walking routes, or to places like Zip World for the more adventurous stuff.
The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to three well-behaved dogs. There's parking right outside the cottage.
