I'm at Hen Stabl. It's a converted stable on our working farm, part of the Parciau Farm Cottages. We're about two miles from Caernarfon town centre.
The place sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not palatial. Everything works and it's clean.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. Sorry, I should say, we don't take pets here. My mistake.
You're on a farm, so you'll see sheep and sometimes hear tractors. It's a proper farm, not a show one. There's a kids' play area on the complex and sometimes a crèche in the holidays, but you have to book that in advance.
Caernarfon is the big draw. The castle is the thing. It dominates the whole town. You can spend a day there easily. The town itself has shops, cafes, a small port. It's good for a wander.
From here, you can get to a lot. Snowdon and Llanberis are about twenty minutes by car. That's where you get the mountain railway up Snowdon. The Plas Menai outdoor centre is a ten minute walk down the lane, if you're into watersports.
Within half an hour you can be at angles for Surf Snowdonia, the inland surf place, or Zip World Velocity if you fancy the zip line. The Anglesey Sea Zoo is over the bridge. The sandy beaches on the Llyn Peninsula are also in that range.
Facilities: you've got the basics covered. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking right outside.
