Delfryn

Delfryn is in Talysarn. It's an old quarryman's cottage. The main thing is the view. You look straight down the Nantlle Valley towards the mountains. You can just sit outside with a drink and watch the light change.

It sleeps two people. There are three bedrooms but they're small. One double room and two singles. It's more suited to two adults. One bathroom, with a walk-in shower.

It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. It's not high-end. The rooms are as you'd expect in an old cottage. The Wi-Fi works. There's a TV, a washing machine, and an enclosed garden.

You can walk from the door. There are paths around the old Dorothea Quarry. To get onto the proper mountain paths, you drive a little. Rhyd Ddu is about a ten minute drive east. That's a starting point for one of the paths up Snowdon, and it's a stop on the Welsh Highland Railway.

Caernarfon is fifteen minutes north. It's got the castle, shops, and places to eat. The railway starts there too. The beach at Dinas Dinlle is not far from Caernarfon. It's a good spot. Free parking, a cafe, views over to Anglesey.

If you want to explore further, the Llyn Peninsula is about forty minutes away. Anglesey is maybe half an hour from Caernarfon. Everything's within a 30 minute drive, really.

The Snowdonia National Park website is useful for planning walks. Bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.
