The Yard Beach Retreat

The Yard is a little one-bedroom place, detached. It's in Aberdesach, on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula. You can see the sea from the front window. It's a four-star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It's just for two people.

The beach is a couple of minutes walk away. It's pebbly and quiet. The sunsets from there are very good.

Inside, there's an open-plan living area with a wood-burning stove. There's one bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a shower. Everything is included: bedding, towels, wifi, electricity. There's a TV. Outside is a private patio area, though it's worth mentioning the owners' dog might wander past the shared bit of yard.

The village itself is small. For a shop, you'd drive to Penygroes, about four miles. Having a car is pretty essential here. For a bigger beach with sand and more facilities, Dinas Dinlle is about ten minutes down the coast.

You can be at Caernarfon Castle, which is a big World Heritage site with cafes and restaurants around it, in roughly twenty minutes. Llanberis is also about twenty-five minutes away. That's where most people start the walk up Snowdon, or you can get the mountain railway up if you book ahead. The lake there, Llyn Padarn, does kayak and paddleboard hire.

The whole coast around here is good for walking. There are plenty of other beaches within half an hour, like Morfa Nefyn and Criccieth. Pwllheli and Porthmadog are market towns you can get to easily. Glasfryn Park, which has go-karting and other activities, is about a twenty-five minute drive.

No pets, I'm afraid.
