Ty Sam is a small cottage near Bethesda Bach, in Gwynedd. It's a stone and slate-built place, basically conversion of an old outbuilding. It's detached, so it's on its own. The name means 'Summer House' in Welsh.
It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which is like the tourist board's top grading. Honestly, it just means everything is very new and properly finished.
It's literally a couple of minutes' walk from the Wales Coast Path. You can walk down to Foryd Bay beach in about twenty minutes. It's a big wide beach, pebbles and sand. Good for birdwatching.
The cottage is about ten minutes by car from Caernarfon. That's where all the shops are, plus the castle. The Caernarfon Castle site is good for history. The Welsh Highland Railway starts there too, goes into Snowdonia.
Snowdon is maybe a 20 minute drive. You can drive to Zip World, Surf Snowdonia, and a few good golf courses all within half an hour. For general planning, the Snowdonia National Park and Visit Wales websites are useful.
There's a pub serving food within a mile walk. The nearest proper shop is in Caernarfon.
Inside, it's all open plan downstairs with a wood burner. There's underfloor heating. Outside is a small enclosed patio area with a table.
Facilities: parking on site, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. It's all electric, and there's a charging point for an electric car. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
