The cottage is called Hen Dy. It's in Bryncir, just off the A487 road between Porthmadog and Caernarfon. It's a detached stone cottage, so nobody is attached to you.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and comfortable. It's not a show home. The stairs are the original ones. They're steep and a bit narrow. You need to be careful on them.
The main thing about the place is its age. They tested the wood and it's from 1550. There's a big inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. It's very good at heating the whole room when lit.
The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. Everything is included: bedding, towels, WiFi, electricity. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
There's a good pub about a mile away on the main road. For shops, Porthmadog is about ten minutes east and Caernarfon is about fifteen minutes north.
You're well placed for the coast. Black Rock Sands, the nearest big beach, is about a fifteen minute drive. The whole Llyn Peninsula is right there for exploring. The National Trust looks after a lot of it. For walking, the Wales Coast Path is all around you. For castles, Caernarfon is the big one, but there's also Criccieth very close by. Snowdonia National Park is on your doorstep too, obviously.
If you need more space, you can book this cottage together with the one next door, Ty Hir.
