It's called Bryn Gwalia and it's in Criccieth. It's a town house, so it's tall and thin, but it's a big one. Sleeps ten people across five bedrooms. You get three bathrooms, which helps with a group that size.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and well-equipped, not overly fancy. The front room has a fireplace and wooden floors. There’s a conservatory at the back that looks out onto the garden. The garden is enclosed and has a couple of fruit trees.
Most of the bedrooms look towards the castle. One looks out the back towards Snowdonia.
The stairs are worth mentioning. They're a typical old house stair. Narrow in places, and a bit steep.
Location is its main thing. You’re in the middle of Criccieth. You can walk to everything: the shop, the post office, pubs, restaurants. It’s all a couple of minutes away.
The beach is a 150 metre walk. That's Black Rock Sands. It’s a long, flat sandy beach. The castle is right on the headland between the two town beaches.
For facilities, it has the things you'd need: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, parking for one car on the drive. Bedding is included. You can bring one dog. It has a cot and highchair if required.
If you want to go further out, Portmeirion is about ten minutes by car. Porthmadog is just along the coast. The main part of Snowdonia, like Beddgelert or the foot of Snowdon itself, is about a half hour drive.
