Sunnyside Cottage

Sunnyside Cottage is in Tremadog. It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and comfortable, not huge.

The village has two pubs and a restaurant, all a short walk away. There's a little shop for basics. For a bigger shop, Porthmadog is about a mile down the road. They've got supermarkets there.

You're right on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. The mountains start pretty much from the door. The stairs up to Snowdon itself are about a fifteen minute drive. There are plenty of other, quieter walks too.

Porthmadog harbour is where you get the steam trains. The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway goes from there. Portmeirion, the Italianate village, is a five minute drive. Weird place, but people like it.

For the beach, Black Rock Sands is the closest. It's a big, flat, sandy beach you can drive onto. Borth y Gest is a smaller, prettier cove with cafes.

Inside, there's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. There's a dishwasher, wifi, and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site, right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

If you're looking into the history, the local slate quarries are UNESCO sites and Caernarfon Castle is about half an hour's drive.
