The Hollies Lodge is a new lodge in Prenteg, near Porthmadog. It was finished in September 2021. It's detached and sits in woodland, so it's quiet. You get a decent amount of decking outside.
It sleeps six, but there are two bedrooms. One is a twin, the other is a kingsize with its own shower room. There's a second bathroom with a shower as well. It's all on one floor.
Inside, it's one open plan room for the lounge, kitchen, and dining area. It's done to a good standard. It has a 4 Star rating.
You're right on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. You can walk straight out from the lodge into the woods. There's a bird table on the deck and we leave food out, so you'll see a lot of birds.
The Aberdunant Hall Hotel is about a five minute walk away. They have a restaurant. You need to book ahead. The nearest pub is about a mile down the road.
For shops and more pubs, Tremadog village is just over two miles away. Porthmadog is a bit further. It's a harbour town and where you get the Welsh Highland Railway. The beach at Black Rock Sands is close. You can drive onto it.
Portmeirion, that Italian-style village, is about a ten minute drive. Beddgelert is also less than ten minutes away. It's a good spot for easier walks. Snowdon itself is obviously the big draw for walking. It's about a 30 minute drive to start points like Pen-y-Pass.
If you want bigger days out, Zip World is maybe 25 minutes away. Blaenau Ffestiniog has the Bounce Below trampolines and the Antur Stiniog bike trails, that's about a 20 minute drive.
Facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.
