Arddwyn

It's called Arddwyn. It's just outside the village of Penrhyndeudraeth. Detached cottage.

Sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. Good for a couple or a small family. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable, and recently done up.

The stairs are a bit steep. That's common here.

The living area is open plan. There's a wood burner. It works well. The kitchen has a dishwasher.

You're a few minutes' walk from the village. There's a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and a train station. The Ffestiniog steam railway goes from here. You can get it down to Porthmadog or up to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Portmeirion is two miles away. It's an unusual place to visit. The beach at Black Rock Sands is about five miles, and you can drive onto it. Harlech Castle is about eight miles.

For walking, you're right on the edge of Snowdonia. There are plenty of routes from the door if you don't want to drive.

Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the stairs inside mean the bedrooms aren't.

Useful links: Snowdonia National Park, Ffestiniog Railway, and Harlech Castle (Cadw).
