The Barn
The Barn is in Talsarnau, near Harlech. It's a detached barn next to our house. The view is the main thing. You look straight out over the estuary and Cardigan Bay towards Portmeirion. You can sit and watch the tide go in and out all day.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a barn conversion, so the rooms are big and there's high ceilings. It feels solid.
The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs or kids. You get the whole thing to yourselves. There's a patio with a table and a BBQ.
The pub is a five minute walk down the lane. They do food. The nearest shop is in Harlech, about three miles away. The beach is a mile down the road, a long sandy one. You can walk into the mountains from the door in about half an hour. You're right in the Snowdonia National Park.
Harlech Castle is ten minutes away by car. Portmeirion is about fifteen minutes. For a day out, the Ffestiniog Railway in Porthmadog is good, or the slate caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Welsh Highland Railway starts in Porthmadog too. If you want something active, the Coed-y-Brenin mountain bike trails are about twenty minutes inland.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We take up to two dogs. Parking is right outside.
