This place is Ysgubor, pronounced 'Scu-bor'. It's one of two barns converted from a big old Welsh longhouse, on a farm near Harlech. The other one is Plas Bach, our house. We're a working farm, so it can be quite a quiet spot. The main thing is the view from your front door, straight down the valley to the sea.
Inside, it sleeps five, with two bedrooms and a bathroom. It’s been done up, comfortable and clean, so it's got its 5 Star rating. It can feel quite dark inside, which is just how these buildings are, but the views from the windows are great. There’s a woodburner for chilly evenings.
Outside there’s an enclosed patio garden, just for you. You’re in the middle of Snowdonia but only two miles to the beach at Llandanwg. Harlech Castle is even closer. For a big day out, Portmeirion is about 20 minutes away. National Trust Snowdonia and Visit Snowdonia are good for ideas.
Facilities wise, it’s got most things: washer, dishwasher, parking. You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. For kids, we can put in a cot and highchair. The WiFi is okay.
The nearest shop and pub is in Llanfair, a mile and a half down the lane. It's a straightforward drive to lots of places. It’s a good spot if you want to be a bit out of the way.
