Abergafren Lodge

Abergafren Lodge is a small cottage on the water's edge, near Minffordd. It's right on the Dwyryd estuary, so you get the view and the birds. It's detached and quiet.

It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Everything is on one level, so no stairs to worry about.

You can walk along the shore to Portmeirion village. It's an unusual place, worth a look. The village of Penrhyndeudraeth is a short walk the other way for a pub, shops, and takeaways.

You're on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. Porthmadog is a five minute drive. That's where you'll find the main supermarkets and the station for the Ffestiniog steam railway. The beach at Black Rock Sands is about ten minutes by car.

For a good walk, the coastal path from Porthmadog towards Borth-y-Gest is flat and easy. Further afield, Harlech Castle and Criccieth Castle are about a twenty minute drive. The Lleyn Peninsula is good for driving around, very scenic.

If you want more active things, Zip World and Bounce Below are up in Blaenau Ffestiniog, maybe half an hour's drive inland.

The cottage has a wood burner, a dishwasher, and WiFi. There's a patio with a barbecue looking over the water. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. No pets.
