Black Rock Hideaway

Black Rock Hideaway is a detached bungalow in Morfa Bychan, North Wales. It's on the coast, a couple of miles from Porthmadog.

It sleeps four people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Because it's all on one level, it's fairly straightforward inside. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. We don't accept pets, sorry.

You can walk to Morfa Bychan beach in a few minutes. Black Rock Sands is about a ten minute walk the other way. It's a huge, two-mile long beach. You can drive onto it if you want to, or just walk. The path up into the hills starts right across the road.

There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant all about 500 yards away. Porthmadog is two miles for bigger shops. It's where the Welsh Highland Railway station is. Portmeirion is a 15 minute drive. Harlech Castle is about 12 miles down the coast.

For walking, you're right next to the Snowdonia National Park. The footpaths are on your doorstep. If you want to attempt Snowdon itself, the various starting points are within a half hour drive.

The facilities are what you'd expect: TV, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is on site.

Useful links if you're planning: Snowdonia National Park for walks, and Cadw for visiting castles like Harlech.
