Bwthyn Stabal is near Criccieth. The name means 'stable cottage'. It's a stone building converted from an old stable block, surrounded by woods. It's very quiet.
It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have Victorian fireplaces, which are decorative. The living room has one too. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The best thing is the view from the kitchen. Big bifold doors open up to look straight out over the fields to the sea. You get a proper, uninterrupted view of Cardigan Bay. The garden is walled, so it's quite private.
The grounds are shared with a couple of other holiday cottages. There's an old yew tree out there that's about 600 years old, along with some oaks and firs. The CCTV is just for security on the oil tank and the main building, it's not pointed at the cottages.
You're about a ten minute drive from Criccieth itself. It's a proper Welsh seaside town with a castle, shops, and places to eat. The castle is Criccieth Castle and it's worth a look.
For beaches, Criccieth has a few. Black Rock Sands is a big, sandy beach about five minutes away by car. You can drive on it at low tide. For walking, the National Trust owns a lot of the coastline around here.
Within half an hour you can be in Porthmadog, which has a narrow gauge railway. You can also get to the southern edge of Snowdonia. Snowdonia National Park is about a 25 minute drive inland.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them, and space to store bikes.
