Ty Hir is in Bryncir, near Pwllheli. It's an old stone longhouse attached to another cottage. My family lives close by in the farmhouse.
It's a two bedroom place, so it sleeps four. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is warm and dry. The furniture is a bit of a mix, but it's comfortable. The living room has a lot of books. The kitchen has an Aga and some bench seating.
The stairs are the original ones, so they're quite steep and narrow.
There's a proper enclosed garden you can use. A stream runs through the field next door. If you have a fishing rod license, you're welcome to try for trout there.
One of the best things is the old railway line. It's about 100 yards down the lane. It's tarmac now, so it's good for a flat walk or a bike ride. You can see Snowdonia from it.
The local pub is about a ten minute walk. It does food. Pwllheli is three miles for supermarkets. Criccieth is about six miles away. It's got a beach and a castle. The ice cream is good.
You're on the Llyn Peninsula, so most of the coast is within half an hour. Abersoch, Nefyn, and Hell's Mouth are all close. For a big day out, National Trust Snowdonia is about 40 minutes drive. The Snowdonia National Park website has walking routes.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a wood burner. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The entrance and one bedroom are on the ground floor. We accept up to two dogs.
