This is Maes Y Mor, in Criccieth. It's a detached house right by the sea. You can see the beach from the front, and there are views across the water to Harlech Castle from the back garden.
It sleeps six, across four bedrooms with two bathrooms. The bedrooms are all on the ground floor. The bathrooms are level access as well, which can be helpful. The upstairs is just a large living space with a kitchen at one end. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is in good order and modern.
It's important to note the stairs. They go from the main front door up to the living area. They're steep and narrow, like you often find in older coastal houses. Just take care.
The garden is yours. It's got a patio area and a lawn. Because it's on a bit of a slope, you get those good sea views. Next door, there's the Criccieth Multigolf place. They have mini golf, and you can hire kayaks and paddleboards in the school holidays. There's also a sauna next door that's open Thursdays to Mondays. So you can be active, or just sit in the garden and watch.
A Dylan's restaurant is right next door too, on the boardwalk. You can pop over for a meal. The town centre with shops and other places to eat is a five-minute walk.
For days out, you're well placed. Porthmadog is a ten-minute drive. From there you can get the Ffestiniog steam train up into the mountains. Portmeirion, the Italianate village, is about fifteen minutes away by car. For Snowdonia, it's about a half-hour drive to start some of the walks. The Wales Coastal Path runs right past Criccieth if you fancy a long seaside walk.
Facilities-wise: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, and parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. Pets are welcome, up to four.
