Ffestiniog View
Ffestiniog View is in Porthmadog. It's a terraced house on the South Snowdon Wharf estate. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's been modernised well. It's comfortable.
The main thing is the balcony. You can sit out there and watch the steam trains go by on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways. They chuff off towards Blaenau Ffestiniog one way and Caernarfon the other. You get mountain views as well.
It's on the old slate wharves, which is what the railway was originally built for. The history is right there.
For beaches, Black Rock Sands and Borth-y-Gest are a few minutes in the car. The pub and a shop are a couple of minutes' walk away. The pub does food.
You're in a good spot for exploring. Criccieth with its castle is close. Portmeirion, that Italianate village, is nearby. Beddgelert is pretty. If you want activity, Blaenau Ffestiniog has a lot: the zip wires, underground trampolining in the slate mines, and downhill bike trails.
In the house, you've got a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. WiFi and a TV. No pets, sorry.
