This is Old Tan Rhiw in Beddgelert. It's a terraced house, right in the village. It's old, from the 1800s, so the walls are thick and the floors aren't level. You get used to it.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and has everything you need.
There are two fires. An open fire in the living room and a wood burner in the kitchen. It makes it very cosy in the winter. We leave some logs for you to start with.
The garden is a bit unusual. It's built into the hill behind the house. You go up some steps to a little seating area. From there you can see the River Glaslyn and the mountains. It's a nice spot in the evening.
Beddgelert itself is small. There are a couple of pubs and a shop, all a few minutes' walk away. The story about the dog Gelert is famous; his grave is in the village.
For getting out, you're in Snowdonia. You can walk from the door straight onto the hills. The Wales Coast Path and National Trust Snowdonia sites are useful for planning. The Welsh Highland Railway station is in the village. You can take the steam train to Caernarfon.
The coast is about a half hour drive. Porthmadog is closest, then there's Blackrock Sands. For bigger beaches, you head towards Abersoch.
In terms of stuff here, it's all listed. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a highchair if you need one.
