Old Tan Rhiw is in Beddgelert, pretty much in the middle of the village. It's a terraced house, built in the 1800s. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms.
The garden is a bit unusual. It's on a steep, rocky bit behind the house. There's a flight of steps up to a small sitting area. You can see the River Glaslyn from up there, and the mountains. It's a nice spot.
Downstairs, there's an open fire in the living room. The dining room and kitchen have a wood burner. Both are ready to use if you want them. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
The village has a couple of pubs and shops, all a few minutes' walk away. You're right on the Wales Coast Path and in the Snowdonia National Park, so the walking is very good. The Welsh Highland Railway station is close if you fancy a steam train to Caernarfon.
The coast and beaches are about a twenty minute drive. For bigger days out, you've got Caernarfon Castle, the Sygun Copper Mine, and all the main mountains like Snowdon within half an hour.
It's got a 4 Star rating. We take two well-behaved dogs. There's a highchair if you need one.
