Ty Newydd

Ty Newydd is in Beddgelert, right in the middle of Snowdonia. It’s a detached stone cottage. The Royal Goat Hotel is next door, it used to be one of their outbuildings.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy for groups. The kitchen is modern and has everything you’d need. The living room is comfortable, there's a wood burner. You get a garden with it, it's enclosed.

The village pub is about thirty seconds away. They do food. The little shop, cafes, and everything else in the village are a short walk. You can start a hill walk from the front gate if you want.

The Welsh Highland Railway station is two minutes walk. You can get a steam train to Caernarfon or Porthmadog from there. For a beach, Black Rock Sands is about twenty minutes by car.

Within half an hour you can be at Caernarfon Castle, Portmeirion, or the Zipworld sites. The slate museum in Llanberis is good, and the Ffestiniog Railway runs from Blaenau to Porthmadog. The National Trust and Snowdonia National Park sites have walking and activity information.

Facilities: there's parking, wifi, a TV, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.

The stairs inside are typical cottage stairs. They’re a bit steep and narrow. There are a few low beams upstairs too. Oh, and there are little decorative dragon motifs hidden around the house. People sometimes look for them.
