Spruce Cottage is on our farm in Hardisworthy. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. Sleeps four with two bedrooms and one shower room.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not luxurious. There's a decent-sized garden with a lawn. You can park two cars right outside.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a separate dining room, which is handy if you've brought a lot with you. The lounge has satellite TV and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included.
The farm is quiet. You'll hear sheep. The nearest proper shop is in Bideford, about a ten-minute drive. Clovelly is closer, maybe five minutes by car. It's a steep, cobbled street down to the harbour. Worth seeing once. The National Trust runs it, so check their site for entry: National Trust Clovelly.
Westward Ho! beach is 15 minutes away. It's a long, sandy beach. Good for kids. Bideford is the main town for supermarkets and things.
You're right on the edge of Exmoor. It's about a 20-minute drive up into the park for proper walking. The Tarka Trail is nearby for cycling. Information on that is here: Exmoor National Park.
North Cornwall, places like Bude and Boscastle, are within half an hour if the traffic's okay.
No pets, I'm afraid. We've got our own dogs on the farm. The cottage can be booked with Pine Cottage next door if you're a bigger group.
