Tawelfan is a one-bedroom cottage. It's one of two on our smallholding just outside Cilcennin village. The name means 'quiet place'. It used to be a cow shed, so you can see the old stonework in the walls.
It's all on one level, which makes it easy. The kitchen is new and the wet room is good. The living area opens out onto a private, enclosed courtyard. You can sit out there.
We have about two acres here. There are sheep in the fields and some chickens, so we ask that dogs are kept on a lead outside the cottage. It's fine for children, but they need watching near the animals. There are public footpaths right from the gate. You can walk for miles.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It sleeps two. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking, WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a cot if you need one. We accept up to two dogs.
It's about a 15-minute drive to Aberaeron. It's a nice harbour town with coloured houses, shops, and places to eat. You can get boat trips from New Quay, which is a bit further along the coast, to try and see dolphins.
Llanerchaeron is a National Trust estate near Aberaeron. It's an old country house with a farm and a cafe. You can walk or cycle there from the town. National Trust Llanerchaeron.
Inland, Tregaron is a market town about half an hour away. Near there is Cors Caron, which is a big nature reserve. Visit Wales Cors Caron.
The other cottage here is called Roath. You can book both together if you're coming as a group.
