Roath is one of two cottages here on our smallholding. It's about a mile outside Cilcennin village, up a country lane. You're in the middle of fields. It used to be a cow shed.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and one wet room bathroom with a walk-in shower. Everything's on one level, which is handy. The floor is stone, so it can feel cool. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well finished and everything works.
You have your own enclosed courtyard garden. It's a proper walled terrace, so it's private. We have sheep in the fields around and chickens roaming, so we ask that dogs are kept on a lead outside the cottage.
There are public footpaths right from the gate. You can do a short loop or a much longer walk without getting in the car.
Aberaeron is the nearest proper town, about a 15 minute drive. It's a nice little harbour place with coloured houses, shops, and places to eat. The National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate is very close to there, which is a good visit. You can walk or cycle to it from Aberaeron on a flat path. Their link is here: National Trust Llanerchaeron.
New Quay is further along the coast, maybe 25 minutes. That's where you go for boat trips and to hopefully see dolphins. If you head inland for about half an hour, you get to Tregaron and the Cors Caron nature reserve.
For the area in general, the Visit Ceredigion site has good local information.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot in if you need one. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. The other cottage, Tawelfan, is next door if you need more space for a larger group.
