Swallow Lodge is one of three barns we've done up here in Mathry. It used to be the dairy. It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The rating is 4 Star. That means it's comfortable and well-finished, but it's not a hotel. It's a converted barn. The walls are stone, the floors are oak and limestone, and the ceilings are beamed and vaulted. The stairs up to the mezzanine are a proper farmhouse ladder staircase, so they're steep and narrow. It's part of the place.
You're on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The village has a Welsh pub and a tea room about a hundred yards away. The shop is in Trefin, two miles down the road.
Abermawr beach is close, about three miles. It's a pebble beach with a big stretch of sand at low tide. Good for a walk. For surfing, you'd go to Newgale or Whitesands, which are about twenty-five minutes by car. St Davids is fifteen minutes away. You've got the cathedral there, and the Bishop's Palace. The harbour at Porthgain is ten minutes drive. They do good fish and chips.
In terms of what's here: there's a wood burner, a dishwasher, a washing machine, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
The other two barns, Pipistrelle Cottage and Ravens Roost, are next door. They can be booked together if you're a bigger group.
