Beacon Cottage

This is Beacon Cottage. It's on a quiet lane near Llanrhian in Pembrokeshire. It was a milking parlour before it was converted, so it's not a typical cottage shape. It's detached and you get the garden to yourself.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. The layout is a bit unusual: the main living space is all open plan on the ground floor, then there are stairs up to an attic bedroom. There's also a ground floor bedroom and a wet room. The stairs to the attic are steep and narrow. I'd just watch your step.

The best bit is the conservatory. It gets the sun and the view looks out over the fields to the sea. You can see Porthgain from there.

Porthgain is the local village, about a mile and a half down the lane. It’s a nice walk if you don’t mind the hill on the way back. There are two places to eat there, the Sloop Inn and the Shed Bistro. Abereiddi is about the same distance the other way. That’s where the Blue Lagoon is, and a beach.

You're right on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. You can walk east towards St Davids or west towards Abercastle. The coastline here is the main event.

For facilities, it has what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. It says wheelchair accessible entrance and ground floor wet room, but do check the specifics if that's important for your party. You can bring two dogs.

If you want to drive out, St Davids is about fifteen minutes. Fishguard is maybe twenty minutes. Useful links for planning: Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and National Trust Pembrokeshire.
