Cwm Gain is a Scandinavian style lodge. It's detached and sits in a field between Llanrhian and Porthgain. You can walk down to Porthgain harbour in about five minutes. It's not a level walk, there's a bit of a valley to go through.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It has underfloor heating, which is very effective.
The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, dining area and living space all together. Patio doors open onto a raised deck with a table. The view looks out over the valley and you can hear the stream. It's a good spot for a morning coffee.
Porthgain has a pub, The Sloop Inn, and a bistro called The Shed that does fish. The coastal path is a few minutes walk from the lodge. Traeth Llyfn beach is about a mile along the path. The path is rugged but the views are worth it.
St David's is about a fifteen minute drive west. It's a small city with a cathedral. You can get boat trips from there to Ramsey Island to see seabirds and seals. Skomer Island, for the puffins, is further but still a possible day trip. For a different kind of day, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is about half an hour's drive.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
