Lower Lochturffin

Lower Lochturffin is down near Treffynnon in Pembrokeshire. It's two old stone barns from the 1700s, joined together by a big glass room in the middle. That glass room has a grass roof. You get some good sunsets looking out from there.

It sleeps six, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's been done up properly, everything works well and it's comfortable. Underfloor heating in every room, and a stove in the living room.

You come down a private tree-lined drive, about a quarter of a mile long. The place is set in around seven acres. Most of that is fenced gardens and woods for you to use. There's also a nature reserve with two small lakes and a meadow with a pond. You're allowed to go in there. The lakes and pond are about a hundred yards from the cottage. If you've got young kids or anyone who can't swim, you'll need to keep an eye on them around the water. There's a wildflower meadow and over a hundred different native trees. We've left a guide to help identify them.

Inside, there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them. The patio has a barbecue and loungers. There's a picnic backpack you can borrow. The property is detached and the garden is enclosed. Parking is right outside.

We take up to three dogs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's worth noting the main living area and the nature reserve ground outside is grassy and can be uneven in places.

We've put together a big guidebook with pictures. It talks about the history of the place and has our own notes on local beaches, places to eat, and things to see. People seem to find it useful.

For days out, the coast is about a fifteen minute drive. Good local information is on Visit Pembrokeshire and National Trust Pembrokeshire. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park site is good for walking routes.
