The Gatehouse is in Castlemorris. It's a detached cottage, but it's on the same grounds as our main house, Y Gwesty Bach. The main stone buildings here are old, from the 1700s, but the Gatehouse itself was built about fifty years ago. It's comfortable and modern inside, just looks a bit cottagey from the outside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's parking right outside.
The garden is yours and it's enclosed. There's a patio and a barbecue. Inside, there's a woodburning stove, which is nice in the evenings. For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The hamlet is quiet. You can start walks from the door. The proper Pembrokeshire Coast Path is about two miles away. The closest beaches are Abermawr and Aberbach. You can walk to them in about twenty minutes, or drive there in two. They're good for a quick swim or a walk. For the bigger, famous beaches like Whitesands or Newgale, it's about a fifteen minute drive.
The village of Mathry is two minutes away by car. It has a pub that does food and a good cafe. For a proper shop, you'd go to Letterston or Fishguard. St Davids is about twenty minutes drive. It's Britain's smallest city, worth a visit for the cathedral. Further up the coast, places like Porthgain and Abereiddy are within half an hour.
