Corner House

Corner House is in Mathry, up on the hill. It’s a bright, open-plan cottage, nothing too old-fashioned inside. It sleeps five, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s comfortable and well set up.

The main living room looks out over the churchyard across the lane. It’s south facing, so you get the sun most of the day. There’s a wood burner for the evenings. The kitchen’s part of the same room. Outside, there’s a small patio area at the front that catches the sun.

The village pub is about a hundred yards away and they do food. There’s a tea room too. For a shop, you’ll need to drive a couple of miles.

It’s about two miles down to the coast at Abermawr and Aberbach. They’re quiet beaches, more pebble than sand. Abercastle is a working little harbour, not far from there. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs along there, and the local bus can help with one-way walks.

St Davids is about a fifteen minute drive. You’ve got the cathedral and the Bishops Palace ruins there. The beaches like Whitesands and Newgale are bigger, good for surfing. Abereiddi has the old slate quarry lagoon.

You can drive to Newport in under half an hour. It’s got a couple of beaches and some nice shops and cafes. Solva and Porthgain are harbour villages with good places to eat, especially if you like seafood.

Facilities: there’s a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
