This is Church Cottage in Scleddau, Pembrokeshire. It sleeps ten, which makes it good for a big family or a couple of families together. It's a detached house set back on a private track, so it's quiet. You're surrounded by about twenty-three acres of fields and woodland that belong to the property.
The house is mostly on one level, which is useful. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms. One is a wet room on the ground floor. The main bedroom has a spa bath in its ensuite, and a little study area. The layout works well.
The main living space is open plan, with an old inglenook fireplace and a wood burner. The walls are stone and there are beams. It's a comfortable room. There's a separate dining room with French doors that open onto the patio.
Outside, there's a good-sized garden. A stream runs through it. You can sit out there and just hear birds. The place has underfloor heating and an air handling system, so it stays warm and doesn't feel damp.
You're about a five-minute drive from Fishguard. It's a harbour town with shops, cafes, and a few places to eat. The lower town by the harbour is nice. From there, you can get straight onto the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The coast is about five minutes away by car.
Newport Sands is within fifteen minutes, and so are a few other good beaches like Abercastle. For a longer day out, Strumble Head Lighthouse is a few miles up the coast. Tenby is about forty-five minutes' drive, if you fancy that.
Facilities wise: it's got WiFi, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and parking for several cars. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if needed. You can bring up to two pets. It's decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.
