Penmynydd Uchaf is a farmhouse just outside Dinas Cross. It's properly rural, about two and a half miles back from the coast. You're up in the hills here, looking out over fields. It's quiet.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. One of the king-size bedrooms is on the ground floor. There's a wood burner in the big fireplace. The sofa is large and L-shaped, good for a group. The kitchen has everything you'd need, including one of those Nespresso machines.
The stairs are a bit unusual. They go up from two different places, from the kitchen and from the living room. You get used to it quickly.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden. It has a hot tub that's heated by a wood stove. It takes a while to get going, but it's nice once it's warm. There's a barbecue and garden furniture too. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
For the coast, Cwm yr Eglwys and Pwllgwaelod are the nearest beaches, a few miles' drive away. They're small and quiet. Newport (Pembrokeshire) is about ten minutes away by car. It has a bigger beach, shops, and places to eat. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is right there, so the walking is excellent. Fishguard is a fifteen-minute drive.
Within half an hour, you can get to St Davids, which is the smallest city. The cathedral is worth seeing. National Trust properties like Castell Henllys are also within easy reach.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
