Y Bwthyn

Y Bwthyn is in Cilgwyn in Carmarthenshire. It's five miles from Newport, Pembrokeshire, where there are some good sandy beaches.

It's a converted stone barn. Sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.

The layout is open plan downstairs with a wood burner. It's on a working farm and shares a courtyard with three other cottages. The stairs inside are narrow and steep.

The garden is yours to use. There are areas with holly trees and berries, and quiet spots to sit.

A couple of things to know: the WiFi signal only works properly outside in the yard, not inside the house. The water comes from a spring on site, so the pressure can vary sometimes. That's just how it is.

There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant about three miles away. The beach is four miles.

It's good for walking from the doorstep. For a bigger day out, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is right there. Newport has golf and sailing. Fishguard is nine miles away and has a nice harbour.

Facilities: there's parking, a TV, a cot and highchair, and bedding is included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
