Snowdrop Cottage is in Glanrhyd, Ceredigion. It’s one of three cottages next to each other, built from slate. They were old cow sheds. We live on the smallholding too, just down the private lane.
It’s for two people. One bedroom up, one bathroom. The stairs are steep, typical for these old buildings. The bedroom has air conditioning, which is handy in summer. Downstairs is all open plan, plus a sun room that looks out towards the Preseli Hills.
You get your own south-facing garden with a barbecue. It’s quiet here, just fields. The coast is about three miles away, so it’s easy to get to.
Newport and Cardigan are both about ten minutes by car. Cardigan’s got the usual shops. For a beach, Poppit Sands is good, or Mwnt is a nice cove. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park site has details on walking the coastal path. You can join it near Moylegrove, which is five minutes’ drive from here.
The Welsh Wildlife Centre on the Teifi Marshes is worth a visit. It’s about a twenty minute drive.
Inside, it’s all been done up. The kitchen is galley style but it works fine. There’s a TV, WiFi, parking right outside, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot or highchair in if you need one.
If you’re a bigger group, you can book the cottage next door, Bluebell, as well.
