Ty Bach
This cottage is Ty Bach. It's a detached stone building that used to be a cowshed, up in Cilgwyn near Newport. It's in a courtyard with three other places, and it's quiet. You look out at the Preseli hills.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The water comes from the estate's own spring, so the pressure can vary a bit. That's just how it is.
The main thing people need to know is about the Wi-Fi. You can pick up a shared signal if you stand outside in the courtyard, but it doesn't reach inside the cottage. This isn't a place to come if you need a strong, reliable connection.
You get your own garden. There's parking. The facilities are listed at the bottom, but it's got the basics: woodburner, dishwasher, TV. We allow one dog.
The location is the main point. You're right next to the Coed Ty Canol National Nature Reserve. You can just walk straight into it from the doorstep. It's old woodland, full of lichens and ancient walls. The grounds here have over seven hundred holly trees, which is unusual. The garden of the big house next door is actually the National Holly Collection.
Newport is about four miles away. That's where you'll find a shop, a couple of beaches, and a golf course. The nearest pub and a small shop are about three miles. For a bigger shop, you go to Newport or down to Fishguard.
