Ty Bach
This is Ty Bach. It's a stone cottage near Cilgwyn in Carmarthenshire. It used to be a cowshed. It's detached and sits in a little courtyard with a few other places.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.
The cottage has its own garden. You look out over fields towards the Preseli Mountains. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. It's open plan inside.
A few things to know. The stairs up to the bedrooms are cottage stairs. They're steep. The water comes from a spring on site, so the pressure can vary a bit. There's no Wi-Fi in the cottage itself. You can sometimes get it in the yard outside.
You're surrounded by woodland here. The Coed Tŷ Canol National Nature Reserve is right next door. It's ancient woodland with old oak trees and an Iron Age fort. It's a good spot for a walk from the door. The main house next door has a garden called The National Holly Collection, with hundreds of holly trees.
The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in Trefdraeth. Newport is four miles. It's a nice little town with a couple of sandy beaches, shops, and a golf course. The big hill you can see from here is Carningli, sometimes called the Mountain of Angels.
The Pembrokeshire coast is about four miles away. You can drive to Fishguard in about twenty minutes, or down to St Davids in under half an hour. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park site is useful for planning walks. National Trust Pembrokeshire has details on local beaches and properties.
Facilities included are a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and parking. Bedding is provided. We can put a cot and highchair in for you. No pets, sorry.
