The house is called Farmhouse Near Newgale, which is basically what it is. It's in Rhydygele, which is a few miles inland from the beach at Newgale.
It's an old farmhouse, parts of it are from the 1600s. We spent a lot of time in 2022 fixing it up, trying to keep the old character but make it comfortable. It sleeps nine people, in five bedrooms, and there are three bathrooms, which helps with a bigger group.
There are two living rooms, both with wood burners. The kitchen is big, with a long table and an inglenook fireplace with another wood burner. The ceilings are beamed, the walls are stone in places, and some of the doors are low. The stairs are made of oak. Upstairs windows have child locks fitted.
There's a proper enclosed garden just for you, plus a shared wildflower meadow with views out towards the sea at Newgale. You can bring up to three dogs.
Newgale Beach is about three miles away. It's a long, sandy beach, good for surfing and walking. You can pick up the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path from there. The village of Solva is about five miles. It's a nice little harbour with a good shop.
For days out, St Davids is about a 25 minute drive. You've got the cathedral and the Bishop's Palace there. The whole coastline is within half an hour, really. Haverfordwest, for bigger shops, is about ten miles.
Facilities are what you'd hope for: parking, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The owners live across the yard in a converted outbuilding, so they're around if you need anything.
