The Stables is in Burgham, just north of Morpeth. It's a detached stone barn conversion off a farm track. Sleeps ten, in three bedrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well kept and comfortable.
The set up is a bit different. It's all open plan downstairs with the kitchen, dining area and living room in one big space. There's a wood burner in a large fireplace. The heating runs on a heat pump, so it's efficient.
There are two bedrooms upstairs, both big family rooms with a double bed and two singles each. They both have en-suite shower rooms and walk-in wardrobes.
Downstairs there's a double bedroom designed for wheelchair access, with a level-access wet room ensuite. There's another family bathroom on the ground floor too, with a bath. So you've got four bathrooms in total.
Outside is a private courtyard with a seating area and a table. The hot tub is out there. It's sheltered and looks out over the fields. Parking is right outside.
It's on a working farm, so you'll see animals. The lane is quiet. The nearest pub and shop are about two and a half miles away in Felton village, which has a good tearoom too. There's a restaurant at the golf club, half a mile down the road.
For days out, you're well placed. Morpeth is about nine miles south, a decent market town with shops and a park. Alnwick is 12 miles north for the castle and gardens. The coast at Druridge Bay is about a twenty minute drive. For the big beaches and castles, you're looking at a thirty to forty minute drive up to Alnmouth, Warkworth or Bamburgh.
Newcastle is about half an hour south if you want a city day. Heading inland, Rothbury and the Simonside hills are about eleven miles west. Hadrian's Wall is roughly an hour's drive.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if needed. WiFi and TV. Washing machine. The place is wheelchair accessible at the entrance and with the ground floor bedroom and wet room. No pets, sorry.
